The hand-held surgical instrument with a strong handle construction and a sharp jaw that cuts through hard tissues. Spring plates are attached to the handle. This mechanism allows for self-opening of the bite. Some models of bites have a "lever" structure with (so-called) a gear that makes it easier for the surgeon to cut through a thick piece of bone.
